Working Girl (30 x 30: Days 2 and 3)

The first thing I want to say is THANK YOU for all of the lovely comments that I got on my last post! I’ve been having a pretty depressing few days and each and every one of them really really cheered me up. :D

The first thing that my coworker said to me on Wednesday was “Those are professional clothes,” hahaha. I guess that means I looked nice?

Top: Gap (Outlet)| Skirt: Gap (Outlet) |Tights: Target | Cami: Gap (Outlet) | Shoes: Gap (Outlet) | Belt: H&M

This shirt is one of my favorites – and normally I HATE yellow, but it’s just so bright and cheery that I couldn’t help but be drawn to it. I also took a stab at mixing patterns when I paired it with my striped tights (they’re a little visible in the picture above).  Oh, and please excuse the hair – we took these pictures as soon as I got home and it was SUPER WINDY outside. I had to pull it back to keep it out of my face. Phoebe was also happy to model with me (or not), since Tavi had his spotlight on Day 01:

That weird shadow? Yeah. Eric’s arm. It took us a while to figure it out, but those were the shots I liked best, shadow and all.

I don’t have any pictures of yesterday’s outfit, unfortunately. Eric wasn’t awake until right before I left for work (though he woke up in enough time to drive me to the metro, which is good), and I was in a funk from some bad news that I received on Wednesday. I worked until 8. I ended up coming home, putting on my pajamas, and crawling right into bed. But it really wasn’t that different from Day 01 – Levi’s, Green Sweater (Limited), Green Gap Scarf, Target Boots.

Today is shaping up to be better. I actually woke up early, made it to work early! On top of that, today is my weigh-in day for Weight Watchers, and I lost 1.5 pounds this week! That’s 5.5 pounds since Jan. 18. I’m so proud of myself! :)

I’m super excited for this weekend. My mom and sister are coming to visit! We’ll get to do all sorts of touristy thing. Since I’ll be busy with them, I probably won’t get to post again until Sunday, when I’ll do a round-up of my weekend clothes.  Does anyone else have any exciting weekend plans?

  • Defiantly need some sunshine yellow after this winter we've been having! Have a good weekend :D

I totally agree – though it hasn't been that bad in DC, I'm ready for some sunshine!

  • Love the gingham in bright yellow!
    Cardigans and Cookie Dough

  • I just found your blog via Kendi's list of remixers–LOVE that yellow gingham shirt! It looks like we have a lot in common, as I'm also really into books, cats, and am hoping to attend grad school for library science in the fall! Good luck remixing!

Good luck with library school! I am still toying with the idea of applying – as of right now, I'm torn between a Library Science program or Creative Writing. :) I'll have to check your blog out – good luck with the remix, too!

  • Ooo, love this outfit, especially the yellow shirt :D

  • That's a totally cute outfit! I wish I could wear skirts like that – they're so chic, but they tend to make my short legs look shorter and my chubby tummy look chubbier, so I avoid. You look absolutely gorgeous though. I know you said you don't like yellow, but I think it's a nice color on you :)
