This is craziness! It’s the 23rd!! I’m obviously failing on my “blog ten times” goal for the month. I think this is …#4? Oh well. I’ll give it ago again next month! This is really just a check in post to say “HELLO I’M ALIVE” because I feel bad about neglecting this site.
Ah. Anyway, yesterday was my birthday. I’m 23 now, which seems crazy. I swear, last time I checked I was an awkward 15 year old cheerleader with bad bangs and braces. Then I blinked and I was 19 and at Ohio State. Now … well, as my little sister put it, I’m old.* It was a good enough day for a birthday.
My coworkers and I had Ben and Jerry’s ice cream cake which was WONDERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL and they gave me a very lovely card. I honestly love my job and every single one of the awesome people that I work with. Besides that, I didn’t really do much – I had ballet, so I ended up coming home and going almost straight to bed. I didn’t even eat dinner! Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday via twitter and facebook – I really, really appreciated it!
Lots of things have been happening around here, which is why I’ve been gone from almost everything save “the twitter”, as Eric refers to it. I’ve read six books! I wrote the ending of my WIP and a few random scenes in between the end and where I’ve stopped, chronologically, and I’m very pleased with it overall. I’ve gone home for family stuff and saw the pup. Friends have come to visit. I’ve gotten some (very!) good news and some (very) bad news. I’ve done a lot of crying, both because I was supposed to and because I’m a crybaby. But I’ve done a lot of laughing too, so it hasn’t been an all around bad month. I’ve watched barely any TV, because Comcast is terrible and keeps messing up our service.
I’m going out to dinner tonight with Tory and Eric to celebrate my birthday, since like I said, I had ballet last night and that wasn’t much of a birthday celebration (or was it?) and we’re going to get Vietnamese food and cupcakes. I’ve been dying to have clay pot chicken again from this one place near work – it was AMAZING the last time I had it. AMAZING. More amazing than you can possibly imagine and I cannot wait.
Also, I feel like we’re having a revolving door of visitors lately. Alice and Drew visited this past weekend, I’m getting lunch with a friend from OSU tomorrow (he’s leaving for the Peace Corps soon!) and Tricia is coming to stay with us for TWO WHOLE WEEKS AND I AM SO BEYOND EXCITED. AHH.
*Kelly is 10. To her, there are three age groups: kids, teenagers, and old people. She just realized I am no longer a teenager, and thus, an old person.

Happy birthday! I turned 23 in January and I have no idea how that happened.

Thank you!
I feel the same way, haha.

Happy belated birthday!
I wish I could find an adult ballet class around here! It is all for kids, so I am either teaching four year olds, or choreographing for college dance class but all U want us a technique class for ME!

Thanks!
That's really too bad that you don't have any adult classes D: I've only been dancing for a year or so, and I started at school, and I guess I just lucked out that when I moved here there was a studio two blocks away that had one.

Happy Birthday! I just celebrated a birthday recently too. Being a 20-something feels quite strange, doesn't it? I still feel like a teenager and I'm in my mid-twenties.

Thanks!
It does feel strange, like this weird not-quite-teen-not-all-the-way-grown-up space. Which I think is totally in my head, but still.

Happy belated birthday! I turned 23 just 2 days after you, haha. Ice cream cake sounds delicious, I haven't had one since I was 7, haha. But it sounds like you had a lovely birthday!

THank you! And happy birthday to you, too!
