Time for another ROW80 update: Things are going swimmingly over here. I’ve averaged over 1,000 words per day for the past five days, which makes me happy. Taking a break from my other manuscript was exactly what I needed. I don’t know if anything will come of this new story, but except for one major freak-out I’ve been thrilled with it so far. The characters and world are just so vivid in my head that I’m having a hard time not writing.
It’s a good feeling to have.

You work in the library?!?! You're so lucky! A while ago, I wrote a blog entry about how when I was a little girl, I wanted to work in the library so I could read all the time. hahaha
Also, I love steampunk! If you ever want a beta reader, I want to volunteer!!! Not enough steampunk stuff out there.

I WISH all I did was read books all day.
That would be the best job ever. But my little library job is pretty cool, so I can't complain.
And I'm glad you're into steampunk! I just may take you up on your offer when I'm done with the first draft of Alerion. I don't know if I'll be ready to let anyone see it before then!

That's an impressive word count. What strike me is the regularity of it, though. I struggle with establishing a routine and sticking to it. I agree with Kate, too. Steampunk is an exciting genre. Personally I feel that although it's been around for a while, it has yet to really hit its stride, so there are all kinds of directions to take it. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
